O spektaklu
Muzykę do Napoli stworzyło aż czterech duńskich kompozytorów: Paulli, Helsted, Gade i Lumbye. Projektu scenografii i kostiumów w wersji wrocławskiej podjął się Otto Bubeníček. Czas trwania: około 2 godzin z jedną przerwą. Wykonawcy: Balet i Orkiestra Opery Wrocławskiej
Napoli 1841 is a festive and energetic classical version of Bournonville's ballet, one of the most outstanding works of this remarkable choreographer. The ballet Napoli will be recreated and updated for the Wroclaw Opera Ballet by Danish dancer and choreographer Johan Kobborg. The ballet's action unfolds in a city square and within the interiors of the renowned San Carlo theatre in Naples, as well as in August Bournonville's Copenhagen studio. In 1841, Bournonville embarked on a journey through Italy, and his stay in Naples proved so inspiring that upon his return to Denmark, he immediately created Napoli, achieving tremendous success.
In his new version of the ballet, Johan Kobborg not only revives this famous production, rarely seen in Poland, but also introduces us to the character of one of the most influential creators of classical ballet. The two-act Napoli 1841 pays homage to the past, refreshing the narrative and creating a new and exciting version of this 19th-century classic.
The music for Napoli was composed by four Danish composers: Paulli, Helsted, Gade, and Lumbye. The set and costume design for the Wroclaw Opera Ballet premier are created by Otto Bubeníček.
Duration: approximately 2 hours including one interval
Performed by: The Ballet and the Orchestra of Opera Wroclawska
