Tomasz Jan Wygoda - a graduate of the History Department at the Higher School of Pedagogy in Kielce. He danced with the Silesian Dance Theater in Bytom in productions by Jacek Łumiński, Konrad Drzewiecki, Henrietta Horn, and Paul Clayde, as well as with Jonathan Hollander’s Battery Dance Company in New York. He co-created the following productions: Made in Polska – Museum of Imagination (Calgary) with W&M Physical Theatre; Slam Out, Dancing Sara Kane, and The Festival of Dreams (awarded Best Production and Best Performer at the Polish Dance Platform) with the Breton Caffe Theater. He has performed in productions by Mickiewicz (Innocence), Zadara (Phaedra), Lupa’s (Zaratustra, Factory 2), Warlikowski’s (The Purified, Odyssey: A Story for Hollywood), Olsten’s (Lynching, Samsara Disco), Garbaczewski’s (A Stone Sky Instead of Stars), and Korczakowska’s (The Believer, Berlin Alexanderplatz). He has created choreography for productions by, among others: Agnieszka Smoczyńska, Barbara Wysocka, Michał Zadara, Natalia Korczakowska, Barbara Wiśniewska, Mikołaj Grabowski, Jan Peszek, Monika Pęcikiewicz, Maja Kleczewska, Jan Englert, and most of Mariusz Treliński’s productions; on stages such as TWON, La Monnaie, the Met, Theater an der Wien, the Mariinsky Theater, the Royal Opera in Stockholm, and the opera houses in Prague, Tel Aviv, and Washington, D.C. He has directed the following productions: Melancholia / Violetta Villas at the Nowy Theater in Łódź (2015, a co-production with Capitol), Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice at St. John’s Church in Gdańsk (2019), and Finally Learning to Live by Max Blecher and Marguerite Duras at the Łaźnia Theater in Kraków (2024).
