Oleg Lanovyi (Olek Łanowy) – a Ukrainian opera singer and tenor with Polish roots on both his father’s and mother’s sides. The artist’s grandmother and grandfather were Polish. He is a graduate of the M. Lysenko Lviv National Academy of Music. In 2012, he began his career as a soloist at the Salomea Kruszelnicka Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. He has performed as a soloist in Europe’s most prestigious concert halls, including the Culture and Congress Center in Lucerne, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, and the Berlin Philharmonie. He made his debut and began his artistic career on the stage of the Lviv Opera as Nemorino in Gaetano Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore in 2013. He has also performed in the following roles: Tamino (W. A. Mozart’s The Magic Flute), Ernesto (G. Donizetti’s Don Pasquale), and Ottavio (W. A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni). He made his Polish stage debut as Alfredo in G. Verdi’s La Traviata at the Lublin Opera in 2023. At the Wrocław Opera, he appeared in 2025 as Ismael in G. Verdi’s Nabucco, Rodolfo in G. Puccini’s La Bohème, and Herod in R. Strauss’s Salome; and in 2026 as the title character in G. Verdi’s Don Carlo, as well as Jontek in S. Moniuszko’s Halka and Don José in G. Bizet’s Carmen. In addition, he is a regular guest on stages across Poland and Europe.
