Wrocław Opera for Non-Governmental Organisations

For many years, Wrocław Opera has actively cooperated with cultural institutions, social economy entities and informal groups as part of its activities. It is an institution open to initiatives in broadly understood education and to cooperation in many other areas of social life. These initiatives are addressed to children, adults and senior citizens alike. In accordance with its Statute, the aim and scope of Wrocław Opera’s activities, as specified in Chapter 2, § 4, Point 1, include, among others:

• promoting musical and theatrical culture and art by organising opera, ballet and theatre performances as well as concerts;
•  cooperating with the social artistic movement, in particular through promotion, educational and material support, further training for musically talented young people and sponsoring the participation of cultural audiences from various social groups in events organised by Wrocław Opera;
•  cooperating with associations and organisations of artists in the field of inspiring Polish opera, ballet and musical creation;
• cooperating with artistic education institutions in the field of training artistic staff for Wrocław Opera;
• organising and inviting other theatres, ensembles and performers to its premises in order to present performances and events worthy of wider dissemination.

These activities, particularly those involving cooperation with external entities, relate to the following areas:

• developing and disseminating artistic creation;
• cultural education;
• developing socio-cultural competences;
• activating and supporting social initiatives;
• exchanging experience and competences;
• ensuring access to the cultural programme for groups with limited access to culture;
• promoting and protecting historical and cultural heritage;
• international cooperation.

In terms of forms and tools of action, cooperation between Wrocław Opera and cultural institutions, non-governmental organisations, social economy entities and informal groups may be carried out in three forms:

• partnerships;
• provision of resources;
• purchase of services.

 What activities can be carried out within the spaces of Wrocław Opera?

Wrocław Opera has spaces in which the following may be organised: theatre performances, performances, exhibitions, workshops, open meetings and lectures, public debates, concerts, film screenings, festivals, competitions, etc. 

If your project is in line with the mission, profile and statutory activity of Wrocław Opera as a cultural institution, it may be implemented once the terms of cooperation have been agreed, under the conditions specified in a written agreement. Cooperation requires both parties to act in a timely and reliable manner, to maintain open communication and to ensure the proper flow of information in carrying out the agreed activities.

We invite representatives of non-governmental organisations, social economy entities, institutions and individuals to cooperate with us, including actors, directors, set designers, visual artists, musicians, cultural animators and educators.

Examples of completed and ongoing cooperation
In accordance with the adopted standards and tools of cooperation, Wrocław Opera conducts its activities on the basis of partnerships, provision of resources and purchase of services. Examples include agreements concluded in recent years, which have provided the basis for the implementation of projects and activities:

• Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Filmowa, Telewizyjna i Teatralna im. Leona Schillera w Łodzi [Leon Schiller National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź]
  An agreement concluded for the purpose of promoting musical culture, exchanging experience, improving the process of educating young artists and jointly organising cultural and educational undertakings.
• Akademia Muzyczna im. Karola Lipińskiego we Wrocławiu [Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław]

An agreement concluded for the purpose of promoting musical culture, exchanging experience, improving the process of educating young artists and jointly organising cultural and educational undertakings, including workshops and rehearsal cycles involving young artists and students of the Academy: singers, instrumentalists and conductors. As part of this agreement, cooperation is currently under way between the ballet artists of Wrocław Opera and composition students, with a view to staging ballet performances with newly composed music. The areas of cooperation also include the exchange of experience, student participation in rehearsals, student debates and other artistic activities.
