Marta Streker graduated in 2016 from the Puppetry Department of the Wrocław branch of the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków, where she studied directing with a specialisation in puppet theatre direction. She made her professional début in 2016 with William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Coriolanus at Wojciech Bogusławski Theatre in Kalisz. She has directed productions for both drama and puppet theatres, including the Powszechny Theatre in Łódź (2017), Jan Kochanowski Theatre in Opole (2018, 2025), Układ Formalny Theatre (2018, 2022), the Puppet and Actor Theatre in Wałbrzych (2019, 2021, 2025), the Polish Theatre in Wrocław (2019, 2026), Opole Puppet and Actor Theatre (2020), Ludwik Solski Theatre in Tarnów (2020), Wrocław Puppet Theatre (2022), Stefan Żeromski Theatre in Kielce (2024) and Witkacy Nowy Theatre in Słupsk (2024). In 2024, she was awarded a scholarship by the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage. She also directed Andrzej Błażewicz’s audiovisual album Polish Nursery Rhymes or Ceremonies, for which she was nominated for the 2020 WARTO Award and the 2021 Wrocław Artistic Award. She has worked as the assistant director to Michał Zadara on productions of Adam Mickiewicz’s Forefathers’ Eve at the Polish Theatre in Wrocław, Friedrich Schiller’s The Robbers, The Bible 3 and Bertolt Brecht’s Mother Courage and Her Children at the National Theatre in Warsaw. She was also the second director on productions of Mickiewicz’s Forefathers’ Eve, Part III (2015) and The Digression (2016) at the Polish Theatre in Wrocław. Since 2021, she has taught at the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Wrocław.
