Javier Gutierrez Cuervo, was born in Gijón, Spain, and began his ballet studies at the local conservatory. At the age of 15, he moved to Madrid with an excellence scholarship to continue his studies at the Victor Ullate Ballet School, from which he graduated in 2020. In 2020 Javier joined the English National Ballet School where he was awarded with the Progress Prize during his studies. Upon graduating the English National Ballet School in 2022 Javier joined the Sarasota Ballet where performed the Rhapsody by Sir Frederick Ashton, Who Cares? by George Balanchine and Johan Kobborg's La Sylphide among many others. In 2024 Javier joined Opera Wrocławska performing production such as the Snow Queen by Małgorzata Dzierżon, Napoli 1841 by Johan Kobborg and August Bournonville and Frida by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa.
