Jacek Jaskuła graduated with distinction from the Wrocław Academy of Music and held a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and Art. He is a winner of an award from the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe as well as prizes at singing competitions in Bratislava (1st prize), Duszniki Zdrój (2nd prize) and Warsaw (Polish Art Song Competition). He has been awarded a doctoral degree in musical arts. He has appeared with the orchestras of Opole, Sudety, Jelenia Góra, Kalisz, Wrocław and Szczecin Philharmonics, Toruń and Silesian Chamber Orchestras, Bytom’s Camerata Impuls, Capella Cracoviensis and Al Ayre Español. With the Elbland Philharmonie Sachsen, he sang Händel’s Messiah and Liszt’s Christus and, with the Neue Lausitzer Philharmonie, he sang in Martin Opitz’s Trostgedicht. In addition, he has given concerts and recitals at the Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój, Bravo Maestro at the Paderewski Centre and Millennium Music Foundation in Calgary. He also gave a recital of Chopin’s songs on Majorca and Ibiza, went on a concert tour of Australia and appeared at the Wiltz Festival in Luxembourg as well as festivals in Regensburg and Xanten in Germany. Jacek Jaskuła is a soloist at Wrocław Opera, where he made his debut as Count Almaviva in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, and with which he went on numerous tours of France, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom. His repertoire includes roles like Papageno in The Magic Flute, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Figaro in The Barber of Seville, Marcello in La Bohème, Maciej in The Haunted Manor, Janusz in Halka, Kilian in Der Freischütz and Escamillo in Carmen. The conductors he has sung with include Ewa Michnik, Bassem Akiki, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, Tomasz Szreder, Tadeusz Zathey, Andrzej Straszyński, Ruben Silva, Józef Wiłkomirski, Andrzej Kosendiak, Marek Tracz, Marek Pijarowski, Jerzy Salwarowski, Czesław Grabowski, Jan W. Hawel, Małgorzata Kaniowska, Iwona Sowińska, Łukasz Borowicz, Tadeusz Strugała, Will Crutchifield and Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski. He has sung at the Grand Theatre in Warsaw, Neues Musiktheater in Weimar, Germany, and Bilbao Opera in Spain. In addition, he has appeared at Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, Silesian Opera in Bytom and Kraków Opera. Jacek Jaskuła is a recipient of the Bronze Cross of Merit awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland and the medal Merito de Wratislavia — for Services to Wrocław awarded by the Mayor of Wrocław.
