Duarte Barros was born in Braga, Portugal in 2005. In 2019, he started his dance training in his home city. At the age of 14, he moved to Lisbon, Portugal, to study at the National Conservatory Dance School, where, in 2022, he got the opportunity to participate in the production of Giselle with the National Ballet of Portugal. After graduation, he moved to Stockholm thanks to an invitation to study at The Royal Swedish Ballet School, received at Tanzolymp 2023 festival. In the summer of 2024 Duarte participated in a production of Armide at the Drottningholm Palace Theater, in Stockholm, Sweden, choreographed by Natalie Van Parys. Duarte joined the Wroclaw Opera Ballet for the 2024/25 season.
