Anna Szopa-Kimso is a graduate of the National Ballet School in Poznań. She completed her studies in ballet pedagogy and postgraduate studies in dance theory at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw as well as postgraduate studies in cultural management at the University of Wrocław. She began her professional career in Conrad Drzewiecki's Polish Dance Theatre. Since 1987, she has been associated with Wrocław Opera, initially as a ballet soloist and currently as its rehearsal director. From January to August 2022, she served as director of the Ballet of Wrocław Opera. She also collaborates with the Youth House of Culture in Wrocław-Krzyki. From 2004 to 2018, she was a dance teacher at the Dance and Ballet School at Wrocław Opera. She has performed many roles from the ballet repertoire, e.g. in Les Sylphides by F. Chopin, Giselle by A. Adam, Swan Lake by P. Tchaikovsky, Cinderella by S. Prokofiev and J. Strauss, La Valses by M. Ravel and others. She has also created many roles in operas, among others, in Carmen by G. Bizet, Tales of Hoffmann by J. Offenbach and Prince Igor by A. Borodin. She has participated in large scale productions and numerous foreign tours organised by Wrocław Opera. In addition, she creates her own choreographies and stage movement. She is the author of one of the parts of Wrocław Opera ballet performance entitled the Ball of Life, choreography for operas, including Angels in America by P. Etvös, or stage movement for The Knight of the Silver Rose by R. Strauss as well as New Year's Eve concerts at Wrocław Opera.
