A coloratura mezzo-soprano with a velvety sound and virtuosic skill, she is currently a soloist in Wrocław Opera. Since 2017 she has been singing title roles in La Cenerentola by Gioacchino Rossini and I Capuleti e i Montecchi by Vincenzo Bellini as well as roles like Mrs Kant in Immanuel Kant by Leszek Możdżer, Papageno in The Land of the Magic Flute, a production based on Mozart’s opera, Cunzia in Oberto by Giuseppe Verdi, Hudel in Fiddler on the Roof by Jerry Bock, Niclausse/Muse in The Tales of Hoffmann by Jacques Offenbach, Lola in Cavalleria rusticana by Pietro Mascagni, and Fenena in Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi.

In addition, Aleksandra Opała appears as a soloist of Łódź Philharmonic (her repertoire includes Henryk Mikołaj Górecki’s Symphony of Sorrowful Songs and Pergolesi Stabat Mater) and collaborates with Sinfonia Varsovia, with which she recorded Feliks Nowowiejski’s opera The Legend of the Baltic. Until 2017, she was a soloist of Capella Cracoviensis, with which she sang in the greatest concert halls in Poland (including the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra’s concert hall) with outstanding artists (like the excellent Giulio Zappa in The Coloratura Madness).

Aleksandra Opała is a graduate of Kraków Academy of Music — from which she received a diploma with distinction — and a prizewinner at national and international competitions. In addition, she participated in numerous masterclasses. She is passionate about combining classical songs and operatic arias with improvised music. In 2020, she took part in the recording of Stanisław Moniuszko’s Songbook for Home Use and 2021 saw the release of the album entitled Impropera featuring the mezzo-soprano voice and jazz improvisation.
